Michael MUI is an independent filmmaker from Hong Kong, now based in London. Formerly Visual Director at the city’s largest broadcasters, his work has been recognised at multiple film festivals and awards, with screenings at renowned festivals in London, Berlin, and Los Angeles. His recent editing work, Great British Train Journeys From Above, received Bronze Winner and People’s Choice Winner in the Post-Production Category at the Creativepool Annual Awards 2025.
 

Michael has collaborated with BBC Maestro, Channel 4, NHK (Japan), and TVB (Hong Kong), producing video content broadcast on U.K. television and streaming platforms worldwide. He also served as the video director for the Arts Council–funded project Mind The Gap with artist Alison Lam, creating moving-image works exhibited at Westminster Library, the Museum of the Home, and SEESAW Space in Manchester.
 

In addition to his broadcast and exhibition work, Michael has directed a range of music videos and documentaries for theatre productions and live concerts, reflecting his ongoing interest in performance, music, and memory.
